Shadow slowly walked down the streets. Damn Faker…Who the hell is he to tell me off? Like he really gives a damn about her life…

He walked along until he found a forest to rest in. “Hmph… I guess this’ll do for tonight. Damn it, how long am I going to live like this?” He lied down and fell asleep.

Shadow’s dream:

Amy’s voice appeared. “Were you hanging out with me today because you felt sorry for me?”

“What? Don’t be ridiculous. I wouldn’t waste time doing such pitiful things.”

“R-Really? You mean it?”

“Amy, the reason why I’m hanging out with you is because you’re my friend.”

She blushed. “I-I am?”

“Sure. But I am I yours?”

“You bet you are!”

“That’s good to hear.”

All of a sudden, a blue hedgehog appeared from nowhere. “Amy! Get away from him!”

“S-Sonic? What are you doing here?”

“Amy, get away from him now. He’ll hurt you.” He grabbed Amy’s arm and pulled Amy away from Shadow.

“Why do you have to get involved in her happiness?” Shadow asked angrily.

“Because you’ll only get her into trouble.”

“Amy, you don’t believe him, do you?” Shadow asked sadly.

“I-I believe my love. I believe you Sonic! Leave me alone Shadow!” She yelled thoughtlessly.

“But Amy- I thought we were-”

“Get AWAY from me!”

“Sonic! Why must you be so selfish? You try to corrupt a young girls mind just because you hate her friend?”

“You’re not anyone’s friend.”

“Why you son of a- Take this you blue rat!” He forcefully hit Sonic in the face. Sonic flew back.

“Why’d you do that, Shadow?” Amy asked with tears in her eyes. “Sonic was right. You’re not anyone’s friend.”

“Amy- wait!” He reached his hand out.

“No, stay back!” She angrily spat. “Shadow the hedgehog: I HATE YOU!”

End of Shadow’s dream.

“No. I don’t want to be alone. Not again.” Shadow mumbled in his sleep. His eyes quickly opened. He rubbed his head. “What the hell happened? I feel like I was hit with a hammer or something…” He looked up at the light blue sky. It was early morning.

He sleepily walked into Station Square. Up ahead he saw a pink dot laughing and skipping to the hotel. She looked straight at him with emerald eyes. She waved to him like she knew him.

“Shadow! Hi!” She yelled. She ran towards him.

“Hi…” He dazedly mumbled. His head still was sore.

“Shadow, are you okay?” She asked.

“Ugh! Did anyone tell you your voice is squeaky?” He thoughtlessly said with his hands on his head.

“What did you say?” Amy angrily. She swung out her big hammer and smashed his head with it.

“HOLY CRAP!” He yelled. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?”

“You think you can just insult me just like that?”

“YOU DON’T HAVE TO POUND MY HEAD IN!!! Now my head feels like it’s going to explode…”

“Maybe I hit you a little to hard… Sorry Shado-” She gasped. “Oh my god! Shadow!”

“Not so loud. God, it feels like my head is bleeding.” He put his hand on his head. “Aw crap, I am bleeding.”
“I’m so sorry I didn’t mean- I mean I didn’t want to- Uh, Are you alright? Does it hurt?”

“I’m alright, and yes it hurts. But nothing that the Ultimate life Form can’t handle I-” And just like that the Ultimate Life form blacked out.

“Shadow! Oh my god! I got to help you to my house…” She tried to lift him. She struggled and grunted but she could not pick him up. “He’s too heavy. But I got to get him help.”

“Miss Amy?” A sweet little voice asked from behind. “What’s wrong with Mr. Shadow, Miss Amy?”

A familiar chao squeal made Amy recognize the voice. “Cream!” Amy thankfully said. “I’m so glad to see you. Shadow passed out and I can’t lift him. Do you think you can help?”

“I’ll do my best!” Cream enthusiastically sang.

Cream put one of Shadow’s arms on her shoulder. Amy took his other arm and rested it on her Shadow. It was hard to carry him, but it was much more tolerable.

They slowly pulled Shadow to Amy’s apartment. It was hard to carry him up the stairs to Amy’s room but they managed. They rested him on Amy’s bed. It had a giant picture of Sonic on it. She placed a warm rag on Shadow’s forehead.

Amy laughed. “It’s a good think Shadow’s not awake to see where he’s sleeping. He’d get pretty pissed. Thanks Cream.” Amy rubbed her shoulder. It was still sore. She looked back at him. “He looks so peaceful… It’s hard to think he’s the Ultimate Life Form…” For some reason, she couldn’t stop staring at him.

“Amy? Are you okay?” Cream asked with a concerned tone.

Suddenly she managed to break her stare. “Huh? I’m sorry Cream I didn’t hear what you were saying.”

“You just seem a little distracted… is everything alright?”

“Yeah…it’s just I feel guilty… That Shadow’s like this.”

“Why? What happened?”

“I couldn’t see he was in pain so he said something mean to me and then…” Her voice started to break. “I HIT HIM WITH MY HAMMER! He saved me and all I can do is hurt him… It’s all my fault!” She started to break into tears.

“Amy don’t cry! You didn’t know… Besides, you’re taking care of him- It’s more than Mr. Sonic would ever do for Mr. Shadow…”

Amy started to calm down. “Thanks. I hope he wakes up soon.”

“We do too, right Cheese?”

“Chao!” Cheese enthusiastically cheered.

“Oh! I bet I should make cookies. This way when he wakes up he’ll be in for a sweet treat!”

She reached into the fridge to get the necessary. She mixed the flour and eggs and all the other interesting ingredients into a bowl and mixed them up. “Hey Cream? Does Shadow seem sweet to you?”

Cream blushed. “Um, Amy what do you mean?”

“Well, they say the cookie with your personality in it is your favorite cookie! For example, what’s your favorite cookie?”

“A sugar cookie!” She shouted.

“See? A sugar cookie is one of the sweetest cookies out there. It’s pure and simple- just like you Cream!”

“I guess you’re right Amy!”

“So do you think? Is Shadow sweet? Like white chocolate?”

“Um, not exactly… I mean he seems a little well, dark.”

“I don’t know what you mean. He seems pretty nice to me… Oh I know! I’ll mix milk chocolate and dark chocolate in there! I bet he’ll like that!”

She added the two different chocolate chips into the bowl and started to stir. She portioned each piece of dough equally on a cookie tray. She put them into the oven. “45 minutes. It will take 45 minutes for them to bake. Can you remember that, Cream?”

“I’ll try!”

She sat down on the couch with Sonic’s face printed into it. “Hopes he likes them…”

“Hey Amy?”

“Yeah Cream?”
“How come you’ve been hanging out with Mr. Shadow lately?”

“It’s only been a day or two… But anyway, I like him! He’s pretty fun to be with. Much different than my first impression of him.”

“You mean he doesn’t mention how he is better than Mr. Sonic?”

“I never said that. But he acts like he actually cares about me.”

“Maybe that’s because he does, Amy.”

“Maybe a little. But I think the only person Shadow really cares about Maria…”

“Well do you care about Shadow?”

“Well, I…”

“You do, don’t you Amy?”

“I guess I do. But not in the same way I care about Sonic.”

“Oh. I see.” Cream eyes widened. “The cookies!”

“Wow!  It’s been 45 minutes already? Okay, I guess they’re ready!”

She ran to a drawer and got an oven mitt. She quickly slipped it on and opened the oven door. She removed the chocolate cookies from the oven.

“I think they turned out pretty well!” Amy said joyfully.

“They smell delicious, Amy! Would you mind if I took one?”

“Sure! But you do know dark chocolate isn’t as sweet as regular chocolate, right?”

“I’m sure I’ll like them!” She took a cookie and split it in half. “Here you go, Cheese!” She handed a half to Cheese and bit into the other half. Cheese did the same. They delightfully finished the rest. “Pretty good, Amy!”

“Let’s hope Shadow thinks so too. I wonder when he’ll come to…Oh that reminds me, I got to change Shadow’s rag! Hold on Cream!” She quickly ran to Shadow’s room. She took away the cool rag and replaced in with a warm rag. She placed it gently on his forehead. “Feel better Shadow…”

“Are you okay up there, Amy?” Cream yelled.

“I’m okay.” She shouted back. She placed the tray cookies on a nightstand next to the bed. She then ran back to Cream.

“Okay, Cream! All done!”

“Um, Amy? What time is it? Cheese and I don’t wear watches.”

“You really should wear a watch Cream, I’m surprised your mother doesn’t say anything… Anyway it’s about 1:00.”

“Oh, no! Cheese, we have to meet mother at the diner in 10 minutes! Sorry Amy, I have to go.”

“Are you sure you’re okay on your own?”

“With Cheese by my side, I’ll be fine!”

“Chao!”

“Okay bye!”

Cream walked down the stairs from Amy’s apartment and began to flap her ears. She quickly flew away.

Great. Alone again. Amy sarcastically thought. She sat down on the couch and took a large sigh. To her surprise she heard a knock on the door.

“Cream must’ve forgot something…” She cheerfully opened the door.

But it wasn’t Cream. It was- It was-

“Sonic!”

He had on his famous cocky smile. “Hey, Amy! What’s up?”

She quickly pinched herself multiple times.

“What are you doing?” Sonic asked questionably.

“Making sure this isn’t a dream.”

“But even if it was, wouldn’t you want it to last?” He flirted.

“I kind of would, but I hate when my dreams toy with my emotions.” She grumbled. “Anyways, What are you doing here?”

“Is that anyway to treat your number one hero?”

“Sorry. Let me try that again: Oh SONIC! I can’t believe you’re here! Was that better?”

“Perfect. I wanted to ask you: Do you want to hang out?”

“What? You mean really? You’re serious!”

“Would I lie to you?”

“Is that a rhetorical question?”

“Amy!”

“Oh my god! I would love to hang out! I just hope that- Nah, it will be alright.”

She franticly ran out the door with Sonic. She was so amazed that this was actually happening. Sonic came to HER and want to take HER out!
